sustainability and values
We recognise sustainability as a fundamental part of our mission. We take important steps to minimise our environmental impact by including upcyclable products in our raw material selection and sourcing from local sources. We focus on the durability and quality of our products and support long-term thinking in our consumption habits. We use 100% natural cloth bags for packaging, help reduce plastic waste and contribute to the circular economy by adopting a sustainable approach in the recycling phase of our end-of-life bags.
We handcraft every piece
We handcraft every piece in every collection, using traditional craft techniques designed with our modern aesthetics. We are committed to participation of women in production in a fair and inclusive manner above international standards. We attach particular importance to the support, empowerment and protection of local craft groups. Women’s participation in the labour force supports economic development and encourages social equality.
Our 100% handmade bags are stitched with natural yarns by our talented women and we offer them to you without causing energy consumption and with minimum amount of carbon footprint.
We take pride in our small workshop where we meticulously handcraft unique artworks on metals to personalize our bags. We draw inspiration from the rich heritage of Anatolian civilizations and employ a traditional technique called hot enamel. This ancient Turkish art form holds deep cultural significance, empowering women and protecting them from the evil eye. Our skilled artisans masterfully create intricate designs. These symbols not only add a touch of elegance to our bags but also serve as a representation of the resilience and strength of women throughout history.
In our material selection, we determine upcycling as one of our basic principles due to our sensitivity to the protection of natural resources and we prefer yarns that can be upcycled. So, what is upcycling? Recycling inert materials by repairing, renewing and recycling them in a way that increases the value of the original product means obtaining a new product of much higher quality. Its contribution to the circular economy is undeniably great. For this reason, we want to make the value of textile waste priceless by upcycling instead of obtaining lower grade products from recycling.
- 90% recycled cotton, 10% elastane fabric: We realise our design with the yarns obtained from combed cropped fabric; for the inner lining, we use 100% cotton raw cloth, which is environmentally friendly, easier and possible to be recycled.
- Dye-free: As a responsible business, it is one of our most important points that the yarns used in the design are not treated and dyed. Since the dye materials used in fabric dyeing cause serious problems in the treatment of wastewater and natural resources must be protected, we prefer pure products.
